Project Development - Juergen Teller References

This Sustainable prospects module has so far given me a great deal to think about it terms of contextualizing my own work. I've been trying to think of a way of developing my research into memory and the family album, whilst incorporating an element of collaboration with the inclusion of someone else family album.

My friend Hannah who I have worked with on previous portrait projects has given me a number of her own family album photographs of her as a child and her family back in Jamaica. She told me these images were all taken in a park or infront of some trees or gardens and this was something her family album photographs all had in common.

I find this interesting that a family will have a certain style of family album images which is something I am going to look at further. The individual familial style of the personal album.

In thinking of how to add the commercial element to this project I was reminded of some fashion editorials shot by Juergen Teller for vivian Westwood where studio backgrounds were created and a studio set up in a contrasting location. The style of shot where you can see the full studio set up in the shot turns the whole shoot space into an object within the photograph.
