Initial Thoughts on Collaboration

Initial Thoughts on Collaboration

Just a few photographic collaborations I thought of off the top of my head after watching the introduction video.

Firstly is the collaboration between photographer and assistant/digi tech. Good assistants are more than someone to do the heavy lifting. There are decisions to make on lighting, exposure etc that will have an influence on the outcome of a shot. Assistants and photographers who have a long term working relationship will know how each other works and a seamless workflow will help coproduce there images.

Fashion Photographer and Retoucher Collaborators Mert & Marcus work together as a fashion brand to create their striking fashion images. They extensively photograph top fashion models and celebrities for most respectable publications all over the world.

Fashion and Art photographer Juergen Teller solely works with Art Director/ then wife Venetia Scott.

Further questions/thoughts....

In professional setting I have struggled int he past working with another photographer... would it be different in a more personal work collaboration? Conflicting ideas...

Would love to work in collaboration with a graphic designer on a book project/portfolio design.

Would also like to work in collaboration with an Art Director on a project. I have worked closely with Art Directors in terms of commercial projects recently but I think the dynamic would be more fruitful on something a little more personal to both parties.
