I love the references here to the 20th Century German photographers Berndt & Hilla Becher. There is something satisfying about repetition when studying a specific thing. These images although not really something that I would shoot myself are a fantastic study of camera lenses where as Le Minh says the camera lens used to record have become the object recorded.
Turk is playing with the way the images are viewed. I'm not entirely sure what I think about the two different outcomes and the difference in the viewing experience but nevertheless an interesting idea and something that can maybe be incorporated into presentation in the future.
I find the reference to Courbet very interesting along with the reaction of the viewer when the image was taken down from the Europart Exhibition. I feel this made it a far more successful piece of work to stir opinion, especially with the present issues in Europe.
